This model was a concept of Mallacore

Permission has been given for us to use it in our mod, I have made a few changes to the original design. This model has been created by myself from reference pictures from Mallacore (Thanks)

OK, I really want to know what that large circle, like a lock mechanism sort of, on the bottom of the fore section of the ship is....It seems too big to be any sort of Goa'uld/Ancient ring transporter....plus the obvious feature wasn't on the Daedalus or Prometheus, so....again, what is it? Or what are you gonna say it is? And what's the tube running behind it to those 2 bulbuous shapes?
:iconmallacore:
The circle is based on the circles that show up on the top of the neck of the Beliskner (thors old ship).
The tube and bulbs are a Neutrino Ion Generator. The same thing that powers the Beliskner.

And here is the original ship. She is still a work in progress.

Ah, ok. Question. Why would a Tau'ri ship utilise and old, outdated Asgard design feature? Especially if it has no function (unless it does and you just don't know what it is etc.)? I mean, other than a registration number and the vessels name there shouldn't and more thanlikely wouldn't be anything else superfluous on the ship's hull, not if it was built by the AF anyway. Maybe for civilian use, but that's the only way I could see it happening?

And I thought it was a Neutrino Ion Generator, but that's always bugged me. Why would they have the power generation system for the ship outside the ship? Where, if shields were down or depleted, or even something broke through, it would be easily destroyed and completely open to attack? Wouldn't that be the greatest Achilles heel ever? A ship with a power supply in plain sight... a few good shots and the entire vessel would be crippled.

And sorry if I sound argumentative, I'm really just trying to understand the design process of the ship from your point of view! Thanks!
